Rico purchased the ranch in 2014. It was a true horse ranch, and The Barn was used to house horses (See Photo). Rico’s 40+ years’ experience as a general contractor quickly gave him a vision to build a private event site on the ranch and so much more! It took some time, but The Barn is now available to the community to enjoy. Rico and Kim got married in The Barn in May of 2022. Their wedding was a kick-off for many more events to come. Rico is constantly making improvements, and they spend their spare time working to make it more special. Stay tuned for updates and improvements. We hope you enjoy The Barn as much as we do. The Barn will also be hosting a variety of events periodically. We will offer a wide variety of music, live entertainment, Karaoke and much more, raising funds for our non-profit, The Sandy Rico Foundation, so make sure to check our website frequently!
The Barn at Rico’s Ranch is family owned. It is a unique private venue born out of the love of bringing people together. The Barn is a
private venue that combines rustic charm and a welcoming vibe to make your event warm and inviting. Quiet and secluded and just minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and I-64, this location is the ideal place to plan your private event. The Barn’s
intimate and tranquil setting is the perfect backdrop for any wedding style from a formal event, a rustic farm nuptial, or a casual food truck style wedding, it is truly a beautiful venue to host any celebration! The Barn is absolutely one of a kind and cannot be replicated.
When people on the autism spectrum are under the age of 22, they receive a range of free programs and services through government entitlements and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Once they turn 22, however, those entitlements disappear. This, according to some sources, is a "services cliff" over which families fall. The goal of The Sandy Rico Foundation is to support adults and children with an autism spectrum disorder or disability, by providing a social environment and a safe space to have fun, friends and meaningful activities and resources they need to feel included in a community. Being part of the community is especially important for the livelihood and independence of individuals on the spectrum or with a disability. Funds donated to The Sandy Rico Foundation will be used to help create recreational events at The Barn for anyone on the spectrum or with a disability. We are also adding a program called “Just Imagine”. At every event, we will offer a chance to win a giveaway (i.e., a room makeover, gift cards and other various prizes). "We are anxious to enhance lives!" This is a new endeavor for Rico and Kim and one that they see a real need for through their son Niko who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at the age of 18 months.
